Jean Piaget was born August 9, 1896 in switzerland. He was the oldest kid in his family. Starting at a very young age Jean has had a fascination with science. When he turned 11 he wrote a short paper on the albino sparrow. When he was a teen his papers were being published all around the world. After he graduated he went to the university of Neuchatel to study zoology. He received his Ph.D. in natural sciences in 1918.

In 1920 he started working with Theodore Simon at the laboratory in Paris. He was currently working as a teacher when he decided to study children and their stages.He evaluated the test which was done to measure child intelligence and show connections between a child 's age and the nature of his errors. He was 84 years old. Piaget is responsible for developing new fields of scientific study, and having a major impact on the areas of cognitive theory and developmental psychology. He published 53 books and 523 articles, which influenced many people around the world. He married Valentine Chatenay, and had three beautiful children. Two daughters and one son. This is one reason why he started the research he did.
