To Kill a Mockingbird is about Atticus Finch, an attorney who fearlessly defends a black man accused of raping a white woman. Through the novel, we are introduced to a character named Jeremy Finch, oftenly called Jem. He is a brave, responsible, and protective, young man. Jem touches Boo Radley’s house in the first few chapters. Boo Radley is a mysterious man, he’s never stepped foot out of his house.
My brother Jem got his arm badly broken when he was thirteen. Luckily, his no-good arm doesn't interfere with his mad football skills, so he didn't care that much. I think everything began with Andrew Jackson, whose actions led to our only ancestor Simon Finch, settling in Alabama, then calling his homestead, Finch’s Landing. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think that I would be here. My father Atticus moved to Montgomery to go at a law school.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee portrays acts of kindness and generosity given to many characters throughout the book in selfless ways. For example, as Jem and Scout are walking down the sidewalk, they continuously find small gifts such as gum, soap, pennies, and a watch in the knothole of the Radley’s tree. Miss Maudie gives Jem and Scout cakes and advice. Calpernia provides a mother figure, discipline, and life lessons for the children. As the town of Maycomb is falling apart from segregation and racism, Atticus steps up to open the eyes of the city.
I’m Helen Robinson, Tom Robinson’s wife. There was a timeframe in the book just after Tom was killed, before Helen could find a secure way to earn money for her family; it was a very unstable time for her and her children. Although Helen is portrayed as meek and kindhearted, much like Tom, the overwhelming sadness and pressure may have caused her to break down emotionally, or feel some emotions of vengeance towards a majority of the white community; especially the Ewells. In the novel, the black church provides her with funding and support while Tom is in court.
From the start of To Kill a Mockingbird to the end, Jem Finch ages from ten years old to thirteen years old, along with his age his character also alters drastically. Throughout the novel Jem faces a multitudinous amount of social and racial injustices, quite a few of these impact Jem as a result of him being the son of Atticus Finch, who at the time was the only Lawyer residing in Maycomb willing to defend a black man in court. Throughout the course of the novel Jem became proficient in adapting and handling these situations. Eventually, Jem realizes this is how harsh this world is, and steadily begins to lose innocence over the course of the novel.
When people's credo changes there has to be something or someone that affected them to make them change their credo. For example someone can be affected emotionally in their lives that will change in how they believe in something or someone. A good example of this is Jemima finch who has various credos throughout the book, that change while he he starts to mature and after the case of Tom Robinson who lost his case just for being black. At the beginning of the book Jem is young and has no idea about racism, which growing up was normal to call a black person a “Niger” which he didn't see that it was bad when father would tell him not to use that word.

Throughout history, To Kill A Mockingbird, and our lives today, going along with the crowd and pushing aside individuality hasn 't helped anyone, or anything. Different views and opinions can help create a lot of beneficial change, but when no one is thinking for themselves, it is impossible for this to happen.
Jean Louise Finch ‘Scout’ is a headstrong young girl who narrates the novel ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’, set in the fictitious County Maycomb over the span of three years. She is often found sporting dirty overalls or breeches and possesses a rather tomboyish personality, much to her aunt’s dismay. It says, “Aunt Alexandra was fanatical on the subject of my attire... When I said I could do nothing in a dress, she said I wasn’t supposed to be doing things that required pants. ”(Page 90)
Courage is being afraid of something, but having the bravery to go against it. Jem Finch started his life off not really understanding this true meaning. He saw courage as doing something no one else would do, like running up to Boo Radley’s house and hitting the wall. Throughout the novel, he learned that this was only childish, and true bravery is harder to come by. Atticus helps show him the real meaning through examples that happen in their lives, and Jem begins to grow up.
Martin Luther King Jr. gave one of the most significant speeches in American history. Atticus Finch, one of the main characters in Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird, gave a closing argument in a court trial that caused an uproar in the south during the 1930’s. Their speeches were given several decades apart, but talked about the same social issues that come from deep-rooted racism. Both of them used rhetoric that challenged the majority opinion around them.
Of course, I am stuck in my wheelchair on my porch in my final days waiting for my terrible addiction to go away. I remember the first time I took morphine to help ease my terrible pain, and it wasn't going to be the last time I had it either. All I can do now is pray, “God, please help me.” It was now, as I sit here on my porch I remember back to all the hard times I went through with morphine. I don’t know why I even did it in the first place.
Bob Ewell and Atticus Finch compare and contrast paper Bob Ewell and Atticus Finch are very different but they do have some similarities and even in their similarities, they are complete opposites. Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell emit prodigious presence in Maycomb, but their frame of reference differs. In the novel To kill a mockingbird, Harper Lee forces of good VS. evil. While Atticus and Bob Ewell are both single parents, their parenting styles are very different.
I believe people should always follow their dreams. After all, you just might come up with something new, like falling in love and such. See I found this dream to be with Scout and I intend to follow is one through ‘til the day I die. Heck, I would run away for her, and I did.
The increasing fear of Communism was a negative effect of the Cold War for life in the United States. Another key thing to remember, is the Rosenberg trial was when Julius and Ethel were said to be doing espionage by Ethel's brother they were later arrested. They were trialed with no evidence except for what Ethel's brother said. They were sentenced to death and the government found actual proof after their death. This demonstrates, negative effect of the Cold War because they were arrested and sentenced to death without any evidence which is violating their human rights.
