Funny, a lady friend cautioned me several times regarding my giddy delight with Jessie. I reverently held firmly and told her Jessie was the real deal; however, we would have respected honesty from Jessie rather than the lie regarding her debt. We would have easily understood her embarrassment of the debt. Everyone makes mistakes! We reacted with no contempt! When you advised her to lie and she complied, it exposed a flaw in her character, not to mention the shame of your manipulative behavior when you persuaded her to lie to impress us. Furthermore, Clint, after seeing you crucify your children for similar behavior, there is only one word for it -- hypocrite. How is this not a son 's disregard, betrayal, and contempt?
Do you truly think so much of yourself and so little of us to have such an arrogant voice? Have you no shame? Has your conscience become deaf? Your conscience is your compass. Have you lost your moral intuition?
If, indeed, your wife took her father-in-law 's loan terms disagreeably, and had the reaction with no thought of respect or regard for her father-in-law, or you, then why would your wife choose to react to her father-in-law 's offer with contempt? What or who would it have hurt to agree to his offer? Clearly, nothing and no one, except her self-importance and yours perhaps? Where were your ethics of empathetic moral judgement for your dad? Those were options of choice not used.
