J.K. Rowling had a simple normal childhood. Jo Rowling was born on July 31, 1965 in Yate in the United Kingdom. She is now 51 years old. Growing up she had a pretty normal childhood. Her parents were both serving their country. Her father Pete had joined the British Royal Navy. Her mother Anne was a WREN, (Woman's Royal Naval Service). She had an amazing sister named Dianne Rowling who was born on June 18, 1967. When the two girls were very young their mother would dress them in the same clothes. They used to be mistaken for twins. When Jo was a teenager she would always write. She would write anytime she could, at school, during her free time, and even when she should have been sleeping. She wrote many short stories and would always read them to her sister. When Jo was a teenager her mother Anne had become very sick with multiple sclerosis, which ends up leading to death. Rowling had to make many difficult decisions in her life. One of the most difficult decisions Jo had to make was to leave her husband Jorge. Jo moved in with a group of friends when she was in college. She met this guy named Jorge. They fell in love, so Jo decided to move in with Jorge. They had a child on July 27 1993 named Jessica who Jo loves. One night they got into a huge argument. He ended up throwing Jo outside and kept Jessica with him. Jo ended up getting her child and got a divorce. This decision affected her life daily because she was a single mother. She couldn’t afford new toys, Jessica had to use old broken toys. She had to put away her pride and get government help so that she could raise Jessica. The decision to get a divorce effected Jessica's life just a much as Jo's. Jessica had to live away from her father. She never really knew her father because she probably doesn’t remember her father that much because she was so young.
