“I am not afraid... I was born to do this” said Joan of Arc. Joan of Arc was a brave woman and a heroin of France. She lead France into victory many times during the 100 years war. She is also known as Joan of Arc; d'Arc, Jeanne; La Pucelle d'Orleans; Saint Joan of Arc; Maid of Orleans; St. Jeanne D'Arc; St. Joan of Arc; and Jeanne la Pucelle. Joan of Arc lead an interesting life. Especially in her early life, middle life, and capture and execution. First, in her life, Joan of Arc was born in c. 1412 in Domremy, France.(“Joan ) She was the youngest child of Jacques d’Arc, a tenant farmer.(“Joan ) Her mom was a very religious part of the Roman Catholic Church and instiller her faith into young Joan. At a very young age, she began to hear voices. Those she believed to be of St. Michael, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret.(“Joan ) They sold her that God had a mission for her. Her mission was to join the French army and lead French into victory over Britain in the 100 years war.(“Joan ) Joining the military would be the difficult part. When the Bulgarian archer shot her off her horse, she was captured. The Bulgarians sold her to the British. The British wanted to destroy this symbol, so they gave a ransom of 10,000 Francs (which is about $10,706.40) even though they knew the French couldn't afford it. They believed a witch couldn't recite such holy words. But she did. She was sentenced to life in prison, but she still wouldn't deny her faith in God.
