What was President John Adams goal before he ended his presidency? The Organic Act, this act was perfect it was to ensure that though John Adams was not going to be president anymore he would still have a majority of federalist become dominate and have federalist ideologies pretty much mandate the federal judiciary. He took action and choose forty-two justices of the peace and sixteen circuit court justices for the District of Columbia, but his plan later failed after the documents were not delivered on time and new president Thomas Jefferson choose not to submit the completed documents. Letitia had a stroke and was paralyzed and then later on had yet another stroke and died. Years later, Tyler married another woman named Julia Gardiner and then had seven children.
The only son of a former President, John Quincy Adams was chosen by the House of Representatives when the electoral college could not determine a clear winner of the 1824 election. In 1803, Adams was elected to the Senate but his repeated displays of independence embargo caused his resignation. In 1809, Madison rewarded him for his support of Jefferson by appointing him minister to St. Petersburg. He helped negotiate the Treaty of Ghent in 1814. In 1815 became minister to London.
John Quincy Adams was not an advocate for slavery. He fought for the freedom of the Africans that were brought over on the Amistad.
