INTRODUCTION Minority groups of people have been excluded and left to fend on their own, as they have been social excluded within the social economy. The civil right movement made possible for minority groups to have equal opportunity within the social economy of the state. However, the introduction of affirmative action by John F. Kennedy the then president of the United States made it seemingly possible for minority groups to be favoured within the social economy. The course of affirmative action is a just policy that equalizes education and economic gap, between minorities and the majority (whites) within the socio-economy state. Ogletree Jr. in his case for affirmative action, states that affirmative action must be kept and put into use. He argues it is a way of compensating African Americans in particular and social minorities through difficult times such as slavery, segregation, Jim Crow laws and discrimination through immigration. (Charles J. Olgletree Jr. 2015).Affirmative action breaks down social and economic barriers, within the social economic state. It promotes enormous diversity within the socio economy, whereby racial minorities and social minorities are evenly represented in schools, workplace and the judiciary system. Through this policy, inequality within the socio economy is reduced. Affirmative action renders untimely opportunity to racial and social minorities, which will never be given if this policy was not implemented. Social structures implemented within the society, tends to stigmatize and discriminate against racial and social minorities (women). Social structures are invented to privilege racial and social majorities (white, men), to succeed and climb up the ladder within the social economic state. This however put racial and social minorities down the social ladder, as they have limited resources such as money, good jobs and good education to be able to succeed within the social economy. Society on the other hand, looks down upon racial and social minorities; they are viewed as second class citizens due to negative stereotypes Imposed on them. Moreover when racial and social minorities are represented within the social economic state such as schools and the workplace it, breaks down stereotypical mindsets, which are constructed by society. With racial and social minorities are perceived as uneducated, unskilled and poor. Thereby ignoring the real issues of the social structures within society, that privileges racial and social majorities within the social economic state.
