It is the 1600s in Puritan America. You are a everyday person in the town with a wife and children. One night you have an affair with a woman who is not your wife, the next day you are at the gallows, about to be hanged for being a witch. You are John Proctor. The Crucible by Arthur Miller, follows Proctor and his story which begins and end with these two events. Proctor is the main protagonist in the play and is a unique character. He has a round and dynamic personality as he goes through the various conflicts in the play.
