John Steinbeck’s Of Mice And Men demonstrates some social and political issues in our world today. These issues consist of poverty, fidelity, a lack for mental health support. Steinbeck demonstrates many social and political issues, and treats them with a vision of realism. The United states has a lot of poverty, and during the time of the great depression many people were in poverty, which is the period of time where Of Mice And men takes place. George and lennie are migrant workers, moving from farm to farm for more work, it’s a hard life for them. Their housing work conditions are not good and they don’t get a high pay, but they have to work, because it’s all they have, they don’t have a family so they just have to work. George and lennie have a dream of owning their own farm, where they can be their own bosses and “live off the fatta the lan”. ???? …show more content…

George shows his fidelity for Lennie, even after Lennie has caused him several jobs and many problems. George shows his relentless love towards Lennie, always trying to keep him out of trouble and wanting the best for him although Lennie holds him back. George shows his support for lennie in his final seconds, realizing that if he doesn’t take Lennie’s life before Curly and the mob get to him, Lennie will be tortured.
