In the quote by John Steinbeck “Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts… perhaps the fear of a loss of power”. This quote interests me because the quote itself does not say much but the meaning of the quote does. Some people may only agree with the quote, and others may only disagree. I agree and disagree with quote in a few different ways. I picked the quote mainly for the reason that I can agree with it. This quote says that fear corrupts, I agree with this. Fear can and in cases does corrupt. Fear can make people become erratic. When someone that has power and is about to lose it and they fear for losing their power. They may do something big and dumb that could mess everything up just because they fear losing their power.
