I personally found the short story “Jon” by George Saunders some what uncomfortable and interested. By the author using some comedy throughout the story in order to keep the reader grasp into the story. I found it interesting because even from the title it was very mysterious but I assumed that maybe it could be mainly about this character by the name of Jon. I also found it interesting because it’s in first person which makes it easier to identify how Jon would feel and the tone he is speaking with. This is very effective because it would show how Jon would feel and how he would change throughout the story. As I went to page two I felt very uncomfortable because they were mainly about how this character Josh and Ruth had intercourses. The first two pages were also about masturbation and seual contact between teens. It was a shocking start for me because I never had read a story that got that intense in few pages of reading. That is why this story is different than others. It made me think why would the author introduce the story in an intense and uncomfortable way? Then, I remembered that it was a fictional story, which means he would have mention that in order to grab the reader's attention and to inform teenagers of the struggles in life to have a child. When I started to read more of the story, there was a lot of details to take in. At that point I had to read it carefully because I would have understand it. I realized that it was about Jon or Randy the protagonist is stuck in this weird facility. In the facility Jon had to test out products and the facility itself was filed with products. In the facility Jon meet the girl of his life
