Jacob Ind planned two murders at the age 15. The murders were his mother and his stepfather. Jacob killed his step father by shooting him in the head and soon after killing his mother as well. Jacob was physically, emotionally and sexually abused by his stepfather and physically and emotionally abused by his mother. Jacob was depressed and soon after the depression he started to cut.
He was the 17th inmate put the death in that state this year. He was believed to be the only condemned inmate in the nation ever paroled and then returned to death row for another murder. Before his very first murder conviction, he has had many attempts of burglary. One of the three females he had killed and raped was sexually abused and raped for hours.

Jonathan Wayne Nobles was no longer the same man that was sentenced to die twelve years prior to his death. Throughout his time in prison, he made many positive strides towards becoming a better person. Jon sought out help for his drug addiction, and attended twelve-step meetings for years. He also began to fill a void in his life while attending mass, and eventually became a lay member of the Dominican Order of Preachers. Jon ministered to other inmates and even took part in mass on special occasions.

Many people have often questioned whether or not someone can become truly rehabilitated, but I don’t think the answer will ever be able to be answered. What I do know is that I believe whole heartedly that Jonathan Nobles was rehabilitated, but that is just my opinion. Throughout his journey he became a changed man, but in the end, he still had to face the consequences for his actions.
In 2014, Jeff Weber brutally attacked a random man on the street with a hammer he had purchased moments before. The victim of the horrific attack was left partially blind and continues to struggles daily with other physical disabilities as a result. Mr. James Eagan Holmes is a 30 year old male, currently housed at County Jail. The Aurora Police Department arrested Mr. Holmes on July 20, 2012 for committing the mass murder of 12 individuals and wounding 70 others, who attended a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” at the Century 16 multiplex in Aurora, Denver. Mr. Holmes is charged with Murder 1st Degree, Attempted Murder 1st Degree, Possession of an Illegal Explosive, and Sentence Enhancement for a Crime of Violence. Following his arrest, Mr. Holmes was found unfit, and transferred to the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and discharged to County Jail, where he awaits trial. Mr. Holmes’ attorney, Ms. Brady, requested a forensic evaluation to help evaluate Mr. Holmes’ mental state at the time of his alleged offense.
Restorative justice is a theory of the criminal justice system that focuses on the rehabilitation of the offenders, victims, and community. This fairly new theory is a new way of tackling criminal behavior, because unlike the traditional form of justice that we have become accustomed to restorative justice allows the affected persons of a given crime to be fully involved in the process of justice.
