Can you imagine going from having so little money to having all the money you could possibly want? Well, going through such a dramatic change, you could start to get greedy, which would make a person very controlling. This is exactly what happened to Jordan Belfort. A lot of people might say Jordan Belfort is a tragic figure. According to Dictionary.com a tragic figure is “a great or virtuous character in a dramatic tragedy who is destined for downfall, suffering, or defeat”. As you can see Jordan Belfort was obviously a tragic figure because he started off really ambitious and clean, but his need for power led him to insatiable greed, and finally his greed led to him to addiction and prison. Innocent, Jordan Belfort came to New York with such high hopes on becoming a big time stockbroker, but as soon as he got to his first job, he realized how hard it was to actually make it on Wall Street.
