Josh's Writing Style Essay

Josh has been learning how to write from the early ages of kindergarten up until now, here at Marist College. Throughout that time Josh has enjoyed being able to be creative with his writing. Although he has written essays, poems, research papers, stories, and even multiple college essays he would rather prefer it to be short in length. Josh likes the sports and fiction styles of writing the most. While Josh likes to keep his writing short it may be because he gets distracted easily. Writing isn't a favorite activity of Josh’s, where he only writes when it is assigned as a homework. Music is usually the backdrop needed to make a perfect writing scene. Josh has read books, magazines, newspapers, textbooks, and online articles. The online articles and magazines are the favorites of Josh, which also connects to how he rather type than write. Usually when someone enjoys writing a piece on a certain topic, they will most likely like to read about it as well. The best thing to read in Josh’s opinion is a newspaper article about his baseball team winning the county championship. Which is why Josh likes to read about sports, cars, and non-fiction. While reading Josh can become easily distracted just like while he is writing. Josh has always had a difficult time reading since he was young. While first learning how to read in elementary school Josh struggled. Teachers and tutors would continue to push him in advancing his reading skills as he got older. Josh prefers to split his reading up into chunks, instead of reading it fully. Josh reads everyday because it is what is needed in life, but books are not a go to choice of his. Josh only reads books when they are assigned along with his school work. When it is assigned though, Josh would preferably rather read at night also the same time he likes to write his pieces. Reading is not a favorite of Josh’s while it is also not a forte of his but he will read things of his interest. As long as they are short in length and hopefully a magazine or online
