Juana Barraza is a Mexican serial killer. She is 58 years old and was born in Hidalgo, Mexico City on December 27, 1957. Her mom and dad never married and were only together for the first five years of Juana Barrazas’ life. Her mother was an alcoholic who exchanged her when she was 12 years old, for only three beers. The man that she was exchanged too, raped her repeatedly. She became pregnant and gave birth to a boy. She had 4 children in total, 2 boys and 2 girls. The eldest boy died because of injuries from muggers who attacked him with a baseball bat. The eldest girl got married at a young age and left her house too. Juana chose older women because of anger she had towards her mother for exchanging her for alcohol. Barraza would choose women that lived alone, that way there wouldn’t be a problem when killing her victims. She would go into the victim’s house and kill them right after she was in. She wouldn’t break in the houses or anything like that but she would pretend to be someone she was not. For example, sometimes she would dress up as a nurse offering a free check up. Other times she would pretend to be a social worker explaining to women, which were her victims, the benefits. She would approach her victims in many different ways. In some cases Juana Barraza would gain her victims trust and access to get into their home. For example, sometimes she would help them with their shopping bags or else she would offer cleaning in their homes that way she would be able to go inside her victims homes. Barraza would strangle her victims with anything she found. Most of the time it was with curtain cords, women’s tights, and telephone cords. In some cases she would also abuse her victims or even sometimes she would rob them right after killing them. The money she robbed, she used it to buy food and things she needed. Her killing rate began to increase in the early 2000s in Mexico City, where she killed all of her victims.
