It can also be a motivational feeling and make you want to do better than before. Finnie Walsh experiences many tragedies throughout this novel. Finnie lives with his father who often neglects to care for him. His brothers have been in and out of jail for most of their lives and rarely appears in his life. Even though they may not be come he has lost major relationships in his life.
Characters (provide descriptions – physical and behavioral) Tom Sawyer- An adventurous, charismatic, young teen. He is constantly seeking thrill and excitement and does whatever he can to achieve it. He lives with his aunt as both of his parents are dead and finds many ways to get in trouble.
Finny is part of the small amount of people. Even though Finny is an athletic and talented leader, this does not mean he can handle everything (mentally and physically) which is ultimately his downfall. Finny is stuck in a youth and innocence phase that he cannot break out of unlike everyone around him who matures into an adult. This forces him to make dumb and youth decisions which ultimately cost him the price in the end. Many examples reveal that Finny’s actions cost him his entry to adulthood.
The chapters begin with Huck Finn on the porch of the Grangerford’s, where he introduces himself as George Jaxon, and they question him and invite him in cautiously with guns ready to fire in case he is a Sheperdson. Huck meets Buck who tells him a riddle, though Huck does not understand the concept of riddles, and that he must stay with Buck and they will have great fun. Meanwhile, Huck conceives a detailed story to tell how he was orphaned. The Grangerford's offer Huck to stay there as long as he likes at the comfortable and kind home. Buck admires the warmhearted Colonel Grangerford and his beautiful children; Bob, Tom, Charlotte, Sophia, and Buck.
Huckleberry Finn is a significant character in Twain’s novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Typically anyone who reads this novel gains a sense of knowledge of what it was like to live in such times. In this book, Huck undergoes many types of occurrences ranging from manufacturing a gang with his friends to dressing up as a girl. Huck also is involved in more serious and controversial events that mentally force Huck to think like an adult. Readers get to experience Huck’s way of thinking throughout the whole book.

There has been a lot of debate weather the book is racist or if it’s just the time that it was written in.
Huck doesn 't really have much of a family besides his drunken, abusive father who comes and leaves when he pleases. Huck never had a real family but when Huck met Jim he almost automatically accepted him as family because Jim was always there for him even though Huck was raised in a community where blacks were not treated as people. They were more treated as objects and huck was treated to have no respect for them. Huck was taught that if you treat a black man well than you 'll go to hell. Huck was a nobler person when not exposed to the hypocrisy of civilization when he apologizes to Jim.
In this selected passage Huck decides he is not going to send the letter he wrote to Miss Watson with the intention of turning Jim in. Huck initially writes the letter because he is thinking about God and his state of sin, as he believes he is committing a sin by stealing another person’s property. He never sends the letter because he realized how much he trusts Jim and doesn’t see him as his property, but rather as a best friend. Previously he has stayed with Jim because it was easy, but this scene marks the time when he is able to stay by Jim’s side even when he believes it will come at a great personal cost.
In Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck found himself subjected to the will of the Widow Douglas and Miss Watson, who he lived with after being abandoned by his abusive and drunken father. When his father became aware of the abundance of money Huck acquired with his friend Tom Sawyer, he attempted to make an appearance back into Huck’s life by kidnapping him. In order to escape the nightly beatings bestowed upon him by his father, Huck faked his own death to obtain freedom. After fleeing to Jackson’s Island, Huck observed his guardians and other friends searching for him from a ferry.

Huck was a fast thinker at all times he faked his death, after his dad tried to get the ladies to sell there slave by the name of Jim to give him money if they wanted to continue to raise Huck. We have seen the lead character of ‘The adventures of Huckleberry Finn’ go ththorugh a series of transformations throughout the course of the novel which are life changing for him and responsible for making him who he is by the end of it. As the novel begins, we find Huck in a highly vulnerable stage despite the recent fortunes he has stepped into. This is mainly because he has been abused by a drunkard of a father and two money minded deceitful caretakers. The story started out with Huckleberry Finn talking about his time with his friend Tom. Tom wanted to start up a band of robbers but he told Huck that he had to get civilized before he could join him. Because of this, Huck moved in with a woman named Widow Thomas and her sister Miss Watson. They had taken Huck into there home to teach him religion and proper manners and instead of Huck obeying their rules he would always sneak out. One day Huck discovers that his father, Pap Finn, has returned to town.
