Judaism is the oldest monotheistic religion that developed over 3500 years ago in the Middle East. Despite later persecutions of the Jews, the semitic group was able to flourish and hold a firm stance in amidst many occasions of societal turbulence and unrest. The idea of a monotheistic religion was first and foremost, allowing Jewish believers to cling onto one single God during the hardest times. This was a major reason that contributed to the continual existence of Judaism and was later adopted by Christianity and Islam, which were heavily reliant of the early writings of Judaism.
