The Two Sides Eurylochus The epic poem, The Odyssey, written by Homer (Fagles translation) has many different archetypes within the story that causes both the story and the journey to move on to the nest destination. In the same time causes the hero, Odysseus, to continue his journey either by some better or worse situations. In the aforementioned poem there is a character called Eurylochus. He is one of Odysseus’ crew, and he represents more than one archetype within the story.
Xenophon, one of Socrates students, was a Greek general and soldier, as well as an active politician. He was also a widely acclaimed historian who has written many books. One of his more popular works is Xenophon’s Hiero, which is a dialogue between Hiero, a tyrant, and Simonides, a wise poet. The dialogue is a response to assumptions that the tyrant’s life is more pleasant than the life of private men. Hiero as someone who has lived both lives gives many reasons to break this misconception and prove the unhappiness state that he lives in because of his position as a tyrant.

In 1811, Tecumseh, known as the “Greatest Indian”, gave a speech pleading with the Osage tribe that they should unite together to fight against the white man (Tecumseh, 231). He goes on to tell how they had given the white man everything they needed to recover health when they entered their land but in return the white man had become the enemy. The speech to the Osages by Tecumseh illustrates the dangers of the white men to the Indian tribes, and why the tribes should unite together against the white man.
As we can tell the author views art as very big way of showing your feelings and emotion while also showing how you feel about certain things and what you did could be conveyed on a canvas or any other form of art. This inference is shown in both texts, the first text of this being shown is in “The Picture of Dorian Gray: Preface” by Oscar Wilde we see this example being shown when he tells us this “ The artist can express everything. Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art. Vice and virtue are to the artist materials for an art.” We can see from this piece of evidence how clear the author is being about telling how artist can express everything but in any form.
The Odyssey In Homer’s epic, The Odyssey, Odysseus is bestowed with great abilities. But along with this potential, he is cursed with great arrogance. Conveying that even the labeled ‘perfect’ among us have fatal flaws that causes pain and suffering among the ones closest to them. The author, Homer, uses Odysseus’ arrogance to create a melancholic atmosphere to convey the idea that arrogance is a fatal flaw that will lead those around them to pain and suffering.
