The world has judgment for everyone on this planet. It has no boundaries or limitations that it cannot reach. The Earth is so vast yet so small. People’s capabilities are dwindled based on the assumptions others make on their behalf. People’s skewed views of another individual can hinder a situation or a person which makes them feel like a box is closing in on them. As a result, it never allows them to break free and see the world in all its glory of opportunities. With the right perspective, the Earth can seem immense, but that depends on the individual. Normally, people feel that their relaxation time is very short, and never realize they did not put in the effort to enjoy their heavenly escape from reality. In the movie “Zootopia,” Byron Howard and Rich Moore illustrate that outside perceptions can affect others’ outlook on that particular individual. Judy Hopps showed unparalleled defiance when pushing past other’s ideals for her when basing it entirely off of her physical appearance. During a play, Judy announced to the audience her aspirations of becoming a cop. The other little animals also broadcasted to the world their dreams, and they were not ostracized by the audience. After the play, Judy left with her parents. Even after all the commentary of how she would not make it as a police officer, she answered with an unwavering response “I guess I’ll have to be the first one. I’m going to make the world a better place” (“Zootopia” 00:03:39). She defies what society pressures her to do, and stays true to herself no matter the difficulties that could arise with her being a bunny. She broke away from everyone’s expectations. Defiance allowed her to become a passionate officer that would not take “no” for an answer. Her resilience is to keep moving forward and to never look back at the obstacles.
