Millions of people die each year from diseases caused by unhealthy food and lifestyle choices. Fast food and processed food are very inexpensive and are some of the worst foods for humans from a nutritional view. They can increase the risk for heart disease, diabetes, and heart attacks. Many people discuss these topics, like Michael Moss, a New York Times investigative reporter. “The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food” by Michael Moss addresses the effects of processed food. The article initially talks about a meeting between high up executives of processed food companies like General Mills and Kraft. Moss stated that, “One of the things [a former Coke CEO] pushed for was to stop marketing Coke in public schools,”(Moss 493) This was a major step for Coke, but did not happen due to firing of that CEO because that action would limit the availability of Coke.
