Honor: High respect; esteem. Honor to me is something that has to be gained it is having respect for yourself and others, karl popper is honored because he was such a great scientist that he was considered on of the most influential philosophers of science of the twentieth century, Popper will also be remembered and honored for his outlook towards the scientific method. Karl Popper will be remembered his outlook towards the scientific method before him, scientists commonly believed that scientific theories can be verified. He was born July 28, 1902, in Vienna Austria. Popper’s mother is Jenny Schiff a talented amatuer pianist and his father is Simon Seigmund Carl Popper a wealthy, successful lawyer. Karl thought high school lessons were boring and felt like he was wasting his time. As supporters of Ludwig Wittgenstein’s Tractatus, the principle objective of the group was to combined the sciences and reject theories completely. When he was younger, he had a passion for music but he was curious and went to lectures by Einstein, looked into the psychotherapeutic theories of Feud and Alder, and became a Marxist and by early 1919 when he was 17, he had become a Communist. He believed these beliefs offered the best mean to end the tragic hardship faced by many of Vienna’s citizens. Popper taught philosophy at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand where he remained through the duration of World War II. At this time, he refocused his writings on social and political philosophy.
