Being in a battle to the death with people you love can have a hard impact on you. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games is where 12 districts have 2 kids each playing in a game. The game is a survival game that is a battle to the death until there is 1 person left or until both kids from 1 district are left. Some examples of people valuing or devaluing human life in The Hunger Games are when Katniss says that she wants no one else to die, Katniss is mad when Efie talks bad about the kids who had no food and they were eating with their hands, and when Katniss thinks about Haymitch giving them stuff. The first example of valuing/devaluing human life in The Hunger Games, was when Katniss was saying that she wanted no one else to die. Peeta and Katniss were in the cave and Katniss was grieving. Then Peeta says “Let's hope Cato kills Thresh, so we don’t have to”. Then Katniss said, “I don’t want Cato to kill Thresh at all, I don’t want anyone else to die”. This is one example of valuing/devaluing human life in the Hunger Games book. …show more content…
They were on a train eating. Then Effie said, "It's a good thing." “At least, you two have decent manners,” said Effie as they were finishing their main course. “The pair last year ate everything with their hands like a couple of savages.”Page #44-45. Katniss got mad at Efie because those kids did not get enough food and when they got food, table manners were surely last. The comment Effie made, upset Katniss so badly that she ate the rest of her food with her fingers. This is one example of valuing/devaluing human life in the Hunger Games
