The Portrait of Dr. Hayes Agnew by Thomas Eakins was created in “1889” (PMA wall panel for the Portrait of Dr. Hayes Agnew), this year marked the end of the gilded age. The gilded age was a time in America when heavy industrialization was occurring and a movement of immigrants were coming to America (“Time Periods and Eras”). The artwork its self is an example of modern art and realism, Thomas Eakins tried to recreate what was occurring in a straightforward manner without idealizing it. This article on ethics was really interesting and a dilemma that is prevalent within criminal justice. In the article Dr. Steven Davis recognized that students cheating in high school increased by 20% in the 1940 to 75% today. Davis stated, "If students lack ethics in high school and college, then there should be little surprise that they lack ethics in their careers. (2008). " This observation by Davis holds some value, because individuals that is willing to cheat to get ahead, definitely has no problem crossing ethical lines, because in their mind the wrong is acceptable, just as it was when they cheated.
Integrity can be defined as being honest and having strong morals. Being able to balance one’s own integrity and professional responsibility is what determines how successful they will be. If someone’s personal integrity and professional responsibility aren’t balanced, they will interfere with or hinder the other. Ultimately, a person is successful if they can balance their personal integrity and professional responsibility.
I believe that in the first three paragraphs Keller gives just the right amount of exposition. I believe in order to understand the text or the story there should be enough information. Without the correct or right amount of information there is no Way to understand the story correctly. Therefor I believe that Keller gives the perfect amount of exposition. For example in paragraph two when she says, “The afternoon sun penetrated the mass of honeysuckle that covered the porch, and fell on my upturned face” She uses so much detail and that detail kept me wondering with what will happen next.
The ones who value their integrity highly are the good people in this world, and the opposite is true for those who do not value their integrity. Some examples of integrity and being dishonest. Examples of Integrity are to keep your promises even if it takes extra effort, go back to a store and pay for something you forgot to pay for, return money that you noticed someone dropped without expecting a reward, and there is so much more examples to be honest and to have integrity. In our freshman year of high school ninth graders must learn the many things in each of their subjects. In english class students are required to learn William "Bard of Avon" Shakespeare’s works. With Shakespeare 's works of literature and drama being 400 years old it’s expected that many people don’t want Barb’s works to be taught in the curriculum in schools. Shakespeare 's works should not be taught to students in schools because it’s difficult for students to understand, his work is not culturally diverse, and is outdated for today’s students. First, it’s difficult for many students to understand Shakespeare’s dialogue.

Virtuous managers should begin by understanding what the facts are. Much of morality in business falls under the rubric of honesty. Honesty means being fit on reality. Dishonesty means self-delusion and in the long term, business will collapse. Honesty is closely related with success and it is one of the business virtues that managers should have.
