Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is Stephanie Pitt and today I will be presenting to you a short written and visual biography on the Australian photographer, Ken Duncan.

Ken Duncan, born in 1954, is an internationally acclaimed photographer who is highly recognised for his prolific and gifted landscape photography (Turnbull, 2016). At the young age of sixteen Duncan knew he wanted to pursue this medium of photography after he watched a black and white print come alive in the developer tray. He described it as a magical moment (Duncan, 2013, pp. 82-87).

In the early days of Duncan’s photography journey, before he became a celebrated photographer, Duncan worked as a salesman for a leading Australian photographic supply house. His passion for photography at this time was more of a just a hobby to him.

These include charity work, helping raise awareness for third world countries to photographing album covers for the band Midnight Oil (Duncan, 2013, pp. 82-87).
He has successfully published over fifty photographic books to date, majority of which had been released under the publishing company he established in 1992, Panographs Publishing. For many of his published photographic books, Duncan photographed landscapes all around the world but majority of them in his home country, Australia. He was even lucky enough to be able to publish a photographic book filled photographs taken on the set of The Passion of the Christ (Pam, 2016).

Duncan’s work has been recognised and honoured a great amount and this master of photography has received many awards, both nationally and internationally.
