We all listen to music, whether we listen all day or once a week, music has an impact on our daily lives. Listeners will never agree upon the best of all time, everybody has somebody as their favorite or best. The music industry varies, with lots of genres of music, difficulty of singling any of them out is close to impossible. but maybe I can change someone's mind about one industry. Kendrick Lamar (K.Dot) is the best Hip Hop artist of all time, and this is not just a biased claim, millions of people would agree with this statement that dont listen to him. Celebrities make influence, they make kids realize what they want to do in the future, and Kendrick has definitely done that. Music has allowed many people to escape from life, the world has helped some people, but not others. A relatable and influential song can go a long way in people's lives. And making music isn’t easy if the goal creates impact, yet Kendrick has enough talent for his words to reach others. He puts his verses together well enough for people to feel, a report from Independent acknowledges that “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City was being studied as a text in the freshman composition class of Georgia Regents University professor Adam Diehl. Kendricks songs influence not just as songs, but as stories, he uses music as a form of sharing his life testimony and decisions. And every album lines up, each album he has made tells a different time in his life, even into his rap career he still had a rough time with family issues. People can argue Kanye because he has more Grammy wins, or Eminem because he has one of the highest ranked albums of all time. But despite the highly opinionated industry of rap, Kendrick is the best out of all. Not only has he passed the competition, but nobody has done what he has in the rap community. A report on Kendrick’s jazz style in his 2017 album DAMN written by Florence Anthony reports that “According to multiple reports, Kendrick Lamar has won the Pulitzer Prize for music, making history as the first non-classical or jazz artist to win the prestigious prize”. Nobody has ever acquired this award in any part of the hip hop community and now only one man has gotten it. Music wise he differs, he started a whole new wave of rap that has splashed through the 2010’s and still the 2020’s. Every album he has made has grown into a perfect hit, The Recording Industry Association of America Acknowledges how successful he became, “Having sold over 70 million records in the United States alone, all of Lamar’s studio albums have been certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America” (RIAA).
