In any relationship, “communication is key”. To stay in any kind of relationship, whether a friend, best friend, or girlfriend/boyfriend, people need to have a healthy relationship. Communication is important for any relationship because communication helps people understand each other better. It further helps to create a stronger bond between two people. Without proper communication, it's difficult to express thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Brittney Morris wrote about a game developer named Kiera Johnson. At the beginning of the story, Kiera struggles with her aplomb. “And worse than Malcolm wanting to talk, I'm afraid he'll fall asleep reading again and he won't even see the text until tomorrow morning. He's done that before, and there's no worse feeling than waking up and scrambling to check your phone in anticipation of a reply and finding nothing.”. At this point in the story, Kiera does not have confidence in Malcolm not texting her back. In the middle of the chapter, Kiera gained confidence and could talk to people more open and share her ideas with her sister. Because of her improved spoken English and the assurance she gained from herself, she was confident enough to admit she had invented the game with her sibling. She could express herself more freely and engage more deeply in conversations with her sister. To sum this up, Through her experience as a game developer, Kiera has gained boldness and improved her social skills with her sister. In the middle of the story, Kiera has been struggling with self-confidence and self-doubt, but by making the game “Slay” and exposing who she is, Kiera can be who she is as a person. From what I read previously on “Slay.” I understand you need communication and confidence. To succeed and make an impact, you need to confidently and effectively communicate your ideas to others. During my communication and confidence journey, I had a personal experience. If you feel that something someone said was inaccurate about you, or anything, speak with confidence. Otherwise, no one will understand your viewpoint. In summary, communication is of the utmost importance in any relationship. Understanding each other, setting boundaries, and resolving conflicts require it. Effective communication also facilitated connecting and building trust between people.
