Did you know that at the end of the movie Black Panther, Killmonger felt content? In the movie Black Panther, a theme that keeps coming up in the protagonist and antagonist of this film is revenge vs mercy. I will be talking about how T'challa is a merciful man and king, while Killmonger is full of revenge. I believe T'challa and Killmonger display these two themes extremely well, as T'challa feels merciful towards
Killmonger, while Killmonger wants revenge because of his death of his father.

Revenge is displayed through Killmonger in many ways, one of which including how he wanted to kill T'challa. Killmonger had his dad taken away from him at a young age by non other than T'challa's dad, he was found stealing vibranium from Wakanda and so the king was forced to kill him. This is what fueled Killmongers feelings of revenge, and drove him to find and enter Wakanda in order to kill T'challa and satisfy his hunger for revenge. When Killmonger first shows up in Wakanda, T'challa doesn’t understand his story, but then he talks to Zuri, and after hearing the whole story, he starts to sympathize with Killmonger and understand his pain and suffering. This leads to him being a lot more merciful towards Killmonger, and trying to work out something peacefully. Sadly Killmonger was intent on revenge, and in the end T'challa still ends up beating him, but it’s not because he was mad at Killmonger for almost killing him, he fought him in order to stop him from destroying the rest of the world. After Killmonger is defeated, he even feels bad for him, and offers to try and heal him, but Killmonger refuses. I think T'challa stays true to his heart and believes what he thinks is right, which makes him a fair, merciful and great king.
