Helping kids with the Kindertransport system The word Kinder transport specifically means”children's transport” in German, and it was created between the years of 1938 and 1940 (Fitzgerald 17-18). Kinder transport was created to transfer young kids out of Germany to keep them away from the Nazis. Many people, mostly the citizens of Germany, got involved to create a movement that's called The “Refugee Children's Movement”. This program would allow children seventeen and under to be transferred out of Germany to other places far away (Berne 15-23). This was one of the only ways to keep the young kids safe during the war and after the war. Due to the Nazis being on the move to try to capture mostly all of the Jews, the children were taken care of by private citizens and aid organizations, being transferred out of Germany, tracked with numbers around their necks (Berne 15-23). In order to be taken out of Germany safely the kids needed to be prepared. Since the young kids could only bring one suitcase, a small bag, a sign, had to travel alone with no family, and knew that their homes were no longer safe to stay in, it was very dangerous for them and their families (Fitzgerald 17-18). The “Refugee Children's Movement” saved lots of lives and some of the kids even moved to bigger and better places and were doing great in life. Thanks to the "Refugee Children's Movement” it did save more than six hundred and fifty children, even though they had to adapt to the new way of life they were still saved from the bad parts of life (Berne 15-23). In fact most of the children were assigned sponsors or aid organizations to keep them safe and show them how to live the right life so that they would have a good, long, and healthy life while the other kinders lived with their relatives
