King Arthur was made and released at the same time King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was released. Though we’re sure the former was released to promote the movie (which was ok by the way), it’s arguably one of the best action beat’em up titles released recently. The game provides a fun and seamless gaming experience, and uses gestures and mobile capabilities perfectly. You will also be treated to straight up outstanding gameplay and good graphics.

It’s highly recommended to watch the movie first before playing the game because...well… spoilers. You will play as Arthur himself and get to interact with characters from the movie, like George and Arthur’s evil uncle, Vortigern. Moreover, you’ll get to train NPCs, fight against a multitude of opponents, and of course, wield Excalibur.

Successive hits on opponents will allow you to fill up a score multiplier gauge on the left side of the screen. However, getting hit will not only incur a health penalty, but also reduce the multiplier by one. Nevertheless, King Arthur is an outstanding beat’em up game and you will find satisfaction in its rather fluid graphics and combat animations. Though saying that it has triple-A graphics is a stretch, the game looks well-suited for mobile devices.
