Dictionary of Dreams It is a walk alone in the middle of a cold snowy winter night, with an absolute silence around except some howls coming from a distance. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a strange sound comes and everything around starts to be a little more visible in the subdued moonlight. Despite the dim light, childish face with stitch marks on the face and blood curdling eyes is clearly visible giving the memories of Chucky in first glance. In the middle of the forest alone, it is frightening enough to be labelled as nightmare and to even get people who claim to be the bravest out of sleep. In King’s article “The Symbolic Language of Dreams” he argues, “ Dreams are the ways people's mind illustrates the nature of their problems”(1). As King argues, dreams are the representation of one’s feelings and problems in life and they also show the pathway to solve problems. People always have problems in their life whether it is a small one or a big one. Some think one problem is bigger than another and can give less importance to one problem. Without their knowledge, it could be that the problem they ignored were actually a bigger problem. Dream highlights the problem and makes people aware that it’s a big problem. King furthur adds , “And the message that we get a lot of times are nothing more than symbolic reworkings of the things that we are concerned with”(23). This states that dreams that an individual dreams are within one’s mind, and they usually indicate ideas and the things that the dreamer is concerned about. It’s a depth of the story or desire that wants to persuade that happens to be true in a dream or a symbol that mind gives us to make that unrealistic reality to be realistic in the dream. He also states, ‘Creative imaging and dreaming are just so similar that they’ve got to be related’(35), to point out an idea that the symbols that are presented within the dream can aware the dreamer about the areas of life where one needs to give attention. In addition it’s an aspect of oneself forcing to create a creative imaging symbols to find happiness within a dream because it might be harder to find one in reality. Since dreams expose the problem in depth, with the use of symbols, with correct interpretation, their root causes can be understood. That makes it very easy to solve a
