It has been said that whenever someone believes something, there will always be someone else that does not. According to people, their belief is the empirical truth and everything else is simply false. Nicolas Leeman’s article “A Call for help: What the Kitty Genovese Story Really Means” tries to interpret the fact of the Kitty Genovese story by New York Times reporter Rosenthal who made Genovese's murder case story, the most talked headline in the New York. Even though the story was way too good to be true neither Rosenthal nor the reader raised their voice against the story being too skeptic. The internet has altered greatly the way in which information is delivered and presented. These advances have had a definite impact on all realms of society, especially the one in which we function: education. According to Carl Sagan, education plays an important role in a students life and how it can develop every individual, “the fault of the educational system. We do not teach how to think” (Burden of Skepticism). Tessa Jolls in “Media Literacy Can Help Students Decipher ‘Fake News” points out that, “ By teaching students the importance of questioning content, they will learn to better evaluate data, the organization believes” (Media Literacy Can Help). Therefore, Jolls is suggesting the literacy of media literacy in the educational curriculum. Kathleen Chaykowski of Forbes writes about social and digital media. She discussed the involvement of journalists in this initiative which supports news literacy and discourages publication of fake news. Chaykowski states, “ Facebook said it will work with educators, researchers, and journalist to help support publisher…specific programs”(Facebook Unveil Journolist Project). Hannah Spratt article, Fighting fake news: because we all deserve the truth is regarding the growing number of fake news occurring around the world. Also, how librarians fight fake news through promoting information literacy skills, “Promoting media literacy is key to teaching teen how to differentiate between fake news..”(Fighting fake news). Thus, all the resources mentioned highlights the significance of skepticism for students to check the credibility of media literacy on fake
