Billy was a twenty three years old. He was a black man who was captured by the KKK in the 1920s. Billy's went through a rough time. (Cohen) He was burnt, choked, beaten and even starved. (Alchin)He was eventually killed. The KKK led to hate in America which led to men and women to violence that continues today. (Cohen) The KKK stands for a klan called the Klu Klux Klan. The KKK is a group of white people who are targeting African Americans, jews, catholics asians, and anyone who presents as un-america. (Cohen)The klan wore white hoods and a white uniform. They wore the there KKK outfit to symbolize that they are apart of the KKK. The klan exceed four million people nationwide. The klan marched all around the united states to represent the klan.(A+E) Another way they symbolized the Klu Klux Klan was to light a cross on fire and place the cross in front of churches. (Alchin)The klan had well over four million members spread around the united states. Riots occurred throughout the united states. (A+E) During the 1920s the klan was bombing, beating and shooting the black lives and doing white activities. (Cohen) They found them self restoring justice. The KKK performed a huge act by placing a box on the steps of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.(A+E) The box was an explosion killing four black women's leaving 23 injured.(Alchin) The klan firebomb a NAACP florida a wife and husband was killed in this attack. The civil rights act was passed the klan was ended by Great Depression. The Klu Klux Klan still continues today around the world, but it is against the law. Just in July 8, 2017 there was a KKK rally. (A+E) There were 50 members of the klan supporting the kkk that afternoon in North Carolina. The police stopped some of the klans from entering there car and leaving only 23 of the klan member were stopped and arrested.
