The textbook, Social Problems, written by Kornblum and Seccombe address the sociological imagination. Using a sociological imagination allows an individual to look at a situation and connect the problems to multiple links; thus, avoiding placing the sole blame on one attribute or individual (Kornblum and Seccombe, 2017). A social problem that can be explained using the sociological imagination is obesity. In my example, a woman is obese. She has tried to lose weight numerous of times; however, she cannot seem to succeed. She finds herself struggling to eat healthy.
