Every year, the Teen Choice Awards show gives out an Ultimate Choice Award. In 2013, the award was given to Ashton Kutcher. For those who do not know anything about Ashton Kutcher, it may seem as if his life is set. However, Kutcher 's life was actually far from perfect. Despite the odds however, he managed to pull through and became the man he is today. Regardless of the many curve balls life has thrown at him, with the help of others, he has become influential to many people and has given one of the greatest speeches in modern time even though it was not political. Ashton Kutcher is a dedicated democrat who has been talked down by a few conservatives over the years. However, once they heard of Kutcher’s Teen Choice Award speech, they were amazed and praised the actor for his work. Ted Cruz applauded the liberal actor on Twitter by telling him it was a “remarkable speech” and also posted a video for Cruz’s followers to also see. The former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, wrote on his blog stating that “A lot of kids who think learning isn’t cool desperately needed to hear that”. Moreover, Huckabee expresses how teachers are trying to teach students the same thing, however, with the help of Kutcher, he hopes that students will begin to listen. “...that video has gone viral and is being watched thousands of times on the Internet. So, good job, Ashton” (Goodin). In addition, Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, compliments the actor, loving how he stayed true to himself and didn’t “take Iowa out of the boy” (Miller). She shows her delight on how Ashton Kutcher didn’t let the fame change his morals despite of all the “Hollywood glitter”. Rush Limbaugh, a talk-radio host, doesn’t really know the liberal actor. Regardless, after hearing what Kutcher had to say about hard work, being smart and and showing kindness, Limbaugh declares that “what he said is exactly what young people in this country need to hear” (Miller). This shows that against all odds, republicans or democrats, these political leaders know what’s right.
