My current knowledge base pertaining to ESSA and LCAP was limited prior to attending the Reforming Education for the 31st Century ESSA and LCAP. My initial thoughts and emotions regarding this event were ones of enthusiasm and willingness, as obtaining vital funding information is a critical step towards my pathway to leadership. Informative and purposeful are two overall lasting impressions that are embedded within my inner self, as I gained essential knowledge from this event. I felt the overall flow and proceedings were flawless and engaging. More importantly, this event created a space where educational leaders from a variety of communities could converse on topics relating to educational funding and educational interventions. Local superintendents from three distinct districts provided details on how their district is implementing the LCAP funding. I found the information stated from Dr. Julie Vitale, Superintendent, Romoland School District to be extremely beneficial. Online professional development, provided at convenient times of the day was one notion Dr. Vitale shared. Dr. Vitale indicated district employees would be compensated for competing online trainings and there are no assigned times to complete the training, therefore district employees could be flexible with their personal schedule. In addition, Dr. Vitale spoke about technology integration as a means to enhance student learning. Furthermore, Dr. Vitale suggested providing free Wi-Fi to all students within her district, therefore creating learning spaces outside of the classroom walls and into student
