The audience of this paper are the officials of community programs that work with supporting the Black LGBTQA community because they can create programs needed to end or at least decrease the amount of homophobia within the Black community. My audience will expect a paper which is more focused on evidence backing up the necessity of these programs. Exigence for my audience will be established due to the fact that many of these officials have been in the same situation as they were growing up. Because I address this issue, my secondary audience includes LGBT kids and their parents.

People within this community who have not been exposed to an accepting environment typically engage in risky sexual activity. For example, sixteen percent of gay and bisexual young men between the age fifteen and twenty-two have a prevalence of HIV and AIDS because many people within this demography do not use condoms. Since many homeless transgendered youth are either willingly live their homes or are forced out by their families, more than fifty percent of these kids turn to prostitution to get the resources need to survive, and unfortunately the likelihood of rape occurring is increased. Lesbian and bisexual young females between the ages thirteen and eighteen are twice as report pregnancy because they are unlikely to use a condom compared to heterosexual teenage females (Bridges, par. 12). Many Black LGBTQA persons contributed to the advancement of the Black community, like Bayard Rustin, a nonviolent civil rights leader that fought for the rights of Black people and members of the LGBT community (Gates, 2013). The acceptance of individuals will improve their livelihood. The rates of mental illness, improve physical health, and social wellbeing of members of this community. The rates of someone that identifies as LGBT developing a mental disorder as a coping device will dramatically drop. The physical health of the members will also improve because the healthcare system will become better equipped to handle cases of this nature, so they will be able to battle the increase risk of certain diseases associated with this group.
