In October 12, 2010, Joel Burns made a public message towards the GLBT teens by sharing a personal story. In this study they found that “75 percent of LGBTQ teens experienced symptoms of anxiety in the past year and 61 percent experienced symptoms of depression” (Ream). These mental blockings are caused due to the judgment and bullying they experience just for being themselves. Having someone read this will allow them to think beyond what they believed and allow room to reflect on the worlds ideals.

Even though gay marriage is legalized, there is still a long way to go with LGBT rights and State and Federal Law. 2) Discriminating against anybody based on their lifestyle is a violation of human rights, and protection of human rights is the soul of a healthy democracy. 3) We should help build hope and start to create a world where everyone can live without the constant fear of being discriminated based on who they are and who they love. 4) Powerful lessons we have learned from past human right movements is that the battles we fought were painful and tough, but in the end they brought sweeping changes in American society by making it more caring and just.
