World War II was a war that started because of a Fammious not so good leader named Adolf Hitler who made it really clear that he was antisemitic and wanted Jews to be a thing of the past. He started mass genocide against Jews in 1933 when he came into power. Then, on September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland, which started World War II single handly until September 2, 1945, when he killed himself in a bunker. And this made World War II justified because of the mass genocide of Jews and civilians, and the sure amount of power Hitler had over Europe. But its also not Justified because World War II was justified to stop Hitler from killing more Jews and civilians.
Character Archetypes In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was accompanied by a hunting group of companions on her journey to the Emerald City. Her companions consisted of Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion, who were loyal and willing to face hardships and ordeals in order to stay together. All wanting seemingly unattainable things, they came along to meet the Wizard of Oz.
The Scarecrow starts talking to Dorothy explaining how he wanted brains. At last Dorthy allowed the Scarecrow to join
Along the journey through Oz, Dorothy shows compassion when she allows the Scarecrow to accompany her in her odyssey. When there is a fork in the road, Dorothy wonders
Despite just having met her, Dorothy recognizes this kindness and takes her advice to travel to Emerald City, the Land of Oz. Oz, the powerful wizard is said to grant people's wishes; Dorothy’s being getting back to Kansas to her Auntie Em and Uncle. On her way to the powerful Wizard of Oz, she runs into three unique characters: the
The Wizard of Oz is a musical about a young girl, named Dorothy, who lives on a farm in Kansas. She desperately wants to get away, and decides to run away from home. After she meets a peddler who convinces her to go back home, she ends up going back home to find a “cyclone” heading right for her house. Dorothy, her dog, Toto, and her house
The story let me recall an old says: a man who is contented will be happy. We can imagine if the lion just value what he has, maybe the ending will be totally different. Form another angel, if we are the hare, we will very appreciate it that the stupid lion has abandon it. The monkeys and their mother From this fable, it is obvious that the mother is too eccentric, because she treat her two sons in exactly the opposite way.
The theme of the story is that three non-human things are trying to get human traits. The situational irony in this story is that they never met the Wizard of Oz, This makes the reader think the wizard will solve their problems, but in the end they figured them out themselves. Dorthy, Tin Man, Lion, and the Scarecrow all went on a journey to find the great Wizard of Oz and on their journey there were many difficulties along the way. One of the characters in the story is the Lion, and he's a coward. He seeks after the wizard of oz to find courage.
The Scarecrow’s real world counterpart are the farmers. While Dorothy and the Scarecrow are walking through the forest the yellow brick road was uneven and broken at times. Because the scarecrow had no brains he kept of falling over but, “it never hurt him, however, and Dorothy would pick him up and set him upon his feet again,” (Baum). This compares to the farmers in the real world. While many people thought that they were dumb (or that they had no brains), others believed that they were smart.
In the passage “Peter Pan, they had a decision to go on the adventure they were on but in the Passage “Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz”, they were just thrown in a situation without a decision and didn’t have botheration. Wendy was worried because they were fully dependent on Peter Pan and he was doing mischief. On the other hand, Dorothy and Zeb had no one to dependent on and were excited and curious about the places they would end up in. These plots also give hints about the author’s
The death of the Wicked Witch of the East made her a national hero of the Munchkins. Baum characterizes Dorothy as a strong female character. She displays perseverance and independence in order to reach her goal, to go back to Kansas. Considering her young age, it is expected from her to feel disoriented and vulnerable, however she finds solutions to her problems and carries them through. At the start of the journey she travels alone with no guidance from a ‘strong’ male character, making her only companion is her dog Toto.
Confidence is a major aspect to one 's life. Confidence gives people hope, it gives people a light to shine in the darkness. Confidence can be positive and negative. The positive aspect of confidence is it provides comfort and helps one face fears that may be hard to face. The negative aspect of confidence is it can be overused, seen in the “Death of a Salesman” through Willy Loman as he thought he was the best and he was making tons of money but in reality he wasn 't the best he was terrible, and he got his kids to believe that he was some sort of superhero when really he was struggling to make money and to support his family.
The Scarecrow desires a brain, the Tin Man wishes for a heart, and the Cowardly Lion seeks courage. Each of these characters represents a particular aspect of human nature that can help them with their journey. Dorothy's kindness is evident in how she interacts with these characters. She is understanding and takes genuine care of her friends.
The character who already had what it wanted in “The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum was the character “Scarecrow”. While Dorothy was on her mission to get to Emerald City to ask the wizard if he could get her back to her home in Kansas, she meet the scarecrow. The scarecrow wanted a brain instead of straw in his head. Dorothy offered to have him come with her to Emerald City so he could ask the wizard for a brain. The scarecrow was very good with directions and he knew a lot of things.
The plot runs from before the start of the Wizard of Oz and then proceeds alongside it, finishing with the supposed death of the Wicked Witch. It re-tells Elphaba’s story and shows how her differences rendered her a scapegoat, allowing the government of Oz to turn the population against her when she hadn’t really done anything wrong. Elphaba’s differences and the people’s reaction to her are obvious symbols of racial prejudice. This is again seen through Doctor Dillamond, an Goat and professor of History at the university, who tells that the Animals in Oz are losing their rights and their powers of speech. This essay will explore racial prejudice in the musical WICKED, analysing the songs and scenes where Doctor Dillamond and Elphaba interact with the other characters in the production to show how the theme is conveyed.
