Our lives evolve as positive and negative circumstances impact us; however, good things can attract mighty evil situations. In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macbeth is striving to become king and is influenced by three witches prophecies and pressured by his wife, Lady Macbeth, along the way. His plot, or rather Lady Macbeth’s plot, to kill the current king, Duncan, starts this extravagant journey to get to the top and restore power in Scotland. He endures many evil situations and gets himself entangled within the troubles of becoming king, which eventually leads to his death among many others along the way. Every good person has evil within them, yet they are still human, this is the downfall of Macbeth and the impact of good versus evil in people. As Macbeth strives to become king, he is greatly influenced by Lady Macbeth as she wants to become queen more than Macbeth wants to become king. Macbeth receives prophecies from three witches telling him that he needs to become king, however he is told not to believe them. Lady Macbeth receives word of this and develops a scheme to abolish Duncan and his reigning power. Macbeth becomes engulfed in the idea of Duncan’s murder and the plan of his death. He wants the memories of sorrow to vanish and she doesn’t want her sulking in her sadness. However, the doctor says that she can only cure herself which leads to her death as she can not face the traumatic emotional grief. As they both feel the guilt eating them from the inside it proves that they are still human and they aren’t completely heartless.
