William shakespeare wrote a play called, Macbeth, which shows how Macbeth is responsible for his own death. Macbeth is responsible for his own downfall because he is power-hungry and easily manipulated.

After Macbeth found out he was next in line to be king, he decided to speed up the process by murdering king Duncan. After murdering king Duncan, Macbeth is crowned the king of Scotland. After Macbeth is crowned, the nature of the country takes a drastic turn for the worse.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth both had their own occasions during which they didn't have their morals in mind. Even though both of them sometimes didn't make the right choices, Macbeth was lacking more in morality than Lady Macbeth, since she ended up repenting everything they had done. Macbeth, for starters, jumped so quickly into his desire for ambition. Once the witches told him the prophecy, he was excited for it and had to tell his wife.
What does being a man inhibit? In William Shakespeare’s tragedy of Macbeth, we can see how a man acts through the lens of Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth believes she knows how men should act through her statement of “unsex me here” (Shakespeare 1.5.48) which shows her longing to no longer be a woman. Therefore, with this statement of no longer wishing to be a woman Lady Macbeth begins to exhibit knowledge of how a man should act, because men is the only other alternative to being a woman. Lady Macbeth desires to not be a woman anymore because she would be able to do the dirty work herself, since women usually do not commit such crimes.
The main theme in Macbeth is too much power can lead to one’s downfall. This is shown by Macbeth’s belief in the witches’ prophecies, his plan to get rid of Banquo, and his confidence of winning the battle. Macbeth’s strong belief in the witches’ prophecies leads to his eventual downfall. After Macbeth wins the battle, he is gifted the title of Thane of Cawdor, which is one of the titles the witches’ predicted he would come to gain in his future. When he first hears the news he is in disbelief, but, he eventually comes to terms with the concept.
In the beginning, there was Macbeth who was a soldier that fought in a war for his country. Macbeth got a visit from three witches who gave a prophesy that he is going to be thane of Cawdor then later on be King over Scotland. Lady Macbeth receive a letter from her husband Macbeth about how he might be King in the future but something stand in the way. Lady Macbeth said that they need to “that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here” meaning that if she was a man that she will fight to be King of the kingdom. Macbeth had a dream where he had a handle of a dagger in his hand then the bell ring.
Macbeth has just said that they shouldn't kill Duncan because he feels bad that he is Duncans host, angry at Macbeth's weakness, Lady Macbeth says, “I have been suckered. had I so sworn as you have done to this” (1.7 62-67). Lady Macbeth throughout the whole play is clearly very dominant over Macbeth and is constantly lecturing him about his indecisiveness and his unwillingness to be as ruthless. She is using gender roles to have Macbeth kill Duncan by calling him not man enough, and guilt tripping him, by saying that she would kill something so precious as her child, but he can't kill a stranger showing that he is not ruthless in Lady Macbeth's eyes. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are hosting a dinner party when Macbeth sees the ghost of Banquo and gets frightened.
