The last of the Mohicans is epic war movie based in the 1700’s. This movie has powerful acting and camera shots and the story to go with it that makes the overall impact of the movie great.The Director, Michael Mann, used many different techniques to capture the action of the movie and the beauty of the surroundings. This movie follows one man (Hawkeye) leading his tribe in the war between the Indians and French. During this movie we start to develop connections with the characters, almost like you are there with them. One of the scenes that made an impact on me and really helped me understand how important the land was to them was the opening scene. But then as the movie progressed we see the Mohicans fighting the war in the same land they cherish and show respect to.This shows the fight the Mohicans had for their freedom but also how they were fighting for their land to be protected and not to be taken over by the government. So having a connection with the characters showed us what they were fighting for and how important it was to them. If we didn’t have this connection with the Mohicans or their land we don’t fully understand why they were fighting. Not only was it for their freedom and not to be controlled it was also for their homeland as well, something that was sacred to them. By understanding what they were fighting for we start to realize how corrupt and powerful the government had got and how they were starting to gain control of the people. A message you get from this movie is that sometimes you have to fight for what you want in life or to not give up. The government was trying to oppress the people but they started to fight for what they knew was right and for their own freedom. So having a connection really shows the hard work and dedication the Mohicans went through to fight for
