Interested Parties:
Greg Garcia: a new assistant professor of biochemistry at Western Institute of Technology (West Tech). He is trying to build good relationship with other colleagues in order for him to get a tenure.
Hal Edmund: a biochemist from the East Coast who is visiting the West Tech biochemistry department to give a seminar presentation.
Carmen Choi: Greg is help Carmen about making her proposal clearer and more persuasive as his senior colleague, Cheryl, request from him. Cheryl Gruen: Cheryl is Greg senior colleague, and she is asking him for help with her grant proposal.
Colleagues: Building relationships with colleagues in his department matter because these colleagues will be the ones evaluating Greg Garcia to decide whether he should get tenure or not.

Greg must worry about his own research project and collaboration opportunities with others colleagues willingly to make good recommendations, so it will be a smooth pathway for him getting his tenure.
Greg must know that Carmen also mentions that she did not tell Cheryl Gruen that she had built this trap into her proposal.
Big conflicts between Greg’s obligations:
Greg did know Carmen put an intentional error in her grant proposal, then doesn't mean Carmen did also break the rules.
Greg did not know Carmen put an intentional mistake in her grant proposal, then he might not get in trouble with the NSF for helping and standing by her side.
Greg is digesting this information from what Carmen told him. He does not know if Carmen is telling the truth about her problem.
