In the movie Dawn of Humanity, it talked about how they were able to fill a huge gap of history dealing with human ancestry when they discovered skeleton remains in various locations. The first hominid remains the movie talked about was when Lee and his son found a fossil that contained a clavicle of a child they first thought it was a fossil of an antelope because of the abundant amount antelope fossils in that area. They brought more people back to that area and found even more fossils and brought them back to a university and found a complete skull. They realized they have found a new species and Lee called it australasicus sadewa, and found it was 1.9 million years old. This fills in the transition between hominids. The first members of our genus homo gives insight on this question. They believe that the main event that lead to the first homo is the use of tools, but they found out even the australasicus had the capacity to make tools. Lee conducts an excavation to go down in a cave located in Africa because they found fossils there. Lee had to hire small anatrpoligst to be able to reach the fossils in the cave. They found that there weren’t just a couple of fossils but more than they expected. As they look at the fossils they realize that they have found a new species. An interesting fact is that all the fossils were of hominids not anything else. It’s the first time that hominids aren’t found with other animals. They start to wonder how the hominids got in the cave, and are wondering if the bodies were placed there. They believe it could be a burial site. If this is true, this changes our idea of the cognitive attributes they needed to take part in these activities like a burial. Researcher think that a key part of this transitions would be social
