Friendship means something Friendship is a relationship between people that have mutual trust and support. Lennie and George's friendship is about George taking care of Lennie throughout the novel. Lennie and George used their friendship to work on a farm together. A friendship can turn from the worst just like in this novel did with Lennie and George. Lennie and George’s relationship represents how bad of a friendship really is. Throughout the novel George showed Lennie he was his caretaker. On page 7 of the novel George told Lennie, “I could get along so easy and so nice if I didn't have you on my tail.” George gets annoyed with Lennie, while he's always doing the same things as George. George takes care of Lennie through the whole novel because he is handicapped. George is a nice friend to Lennie and Lennie would do anything to make George happy. On page 105 of the novel “Slim came directly to George and sat down beside him, sat very close to him. “Never mind”, said Slim,’ a guy gotta go sometime.” Slim was meaning you're going to go sometime in your life so why not right now. Slim wants George to shoot Lennie, because Slim really has never liked Lennie. Only Slim understands how George feels with Lennie because Slim wants him dead. Slim just doesn’t care and George is with Slim on this decision. Slim gets really annoyed with Lennie throughout the novel just like George does. They both agree that they think it's time to for Lennie to go. On page 105 Of Mice and Men, George says “the hand shook violently his face set and his hand steadied he pulled the trigger.” George ended up killing his best friend. I would've never thought George would do this to his own best friend. George wasn’t a good enough friend to Lennie or he wouldn't of shot
