I never knew him but my mother was close. He suffered from depression and became an artist, perhaps to deal with his suffering. The day he died I found myself comforting my mother and reassuring her. "The Renaissance", also known as the beginning of modern art, started in the early 1400s and continued into the early 1600s. It began in Florence, Italy and quickly spread even as far as the Netherlands. During this time paintings and sculptures became more life-like and beautiful because of the advances in science, especially in anatomy. This era of art gave birth to two of the most influential artists of that time, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. Leonardo Da Vinci who lived in Italy during the late 1400s is probably best known for his paintings the "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper".

At a young age, he took an interest in sculpting, art, and nature. His father had him apprenticed under Andrea del Verrocchio, who was a painter, sculptor, and gold-worker.

The artist of my choice in this case would be Leonardo da Vinci. He is an Italian artist who made history in inventions, painting, sculpturing, and engineering among other fields. Leonardo da Vinci is considered as one of the greatest painters to ever exist (Freud 34). His exploits in enhancing humanism in paintings are epitomized in the renaissance period (Burke 211). Vinci’s imaginations and immense curiosity are still remembered as some of the aspects that complemented his talent.
Leonardo Da Vinci was more than a painter, sculptor and inventor. Da Vinci was a scientist in every sense of the word. He was fascinated by the universe and the world around him. He was also fascinated with the smallest details of the world in which he lived. He began several treatises on painting, architecture, mechanics and a whole host of other scientific topics.

When Europe had left the burdens of the Middle Ages, and continued onto an era filled with brightness, Many individuals have contributed to this period, but it wouldn't be as impeccable if it wasn't for the "Renaissance Man" himself. Leonardo da Vinci was someone known for having a mastery in a variety of fields, including science and the arts. His creations revolutionized his age, as well as our thinkings today.
Leonardo da Vinci was one the greatest Italian renaissance artist which was once explained that a painter will create paintings of small merit if he shall use the work of other as a stand; but if he will study from natural objects, he shall bear good fruit, especially for those who shall use nature as their standard. I chose to look into Leonardo da Vinci’s innovation in art and human perception of the world around us. Da Vinci, aside from being an artist, was also very talented at engineering and architecture. He could create efficient diagrams and models of his inventions. As an artist, he needed knowledge of color and visual space to bring his ideas to life accurately. He knew he had much to learn so he studied the world and tried to recreate what he saw in his drawings.
He rarely experimented, but several of his machine designs were extremely accurate. Sadly, he was a man ahead of his time, as many of his ideas such as helicopters, military tanks, bicycles, and submarines would not be invented until centuries later. By studying science, he was able to accurately improve his art, and by studying art he was able to sketch his extraordinary ideas on

From the beginning, when I was figuring out what would be my focus for the next few months, Leonardo da Vinci fascinated me. One of Leonardo Da Vinci’s most famous pieces is the Mona Lisa because of the different aspects that it portrays. Leonardo strengthened the effect by creating an astonishing sense of the textures in the painting.
