The Roman government in the first century A.D saw several horrific and inhumane rulers who killed and tortured people. It is easy for one to look at horrible rulers and think of every way possible to defy the government. But, Paul tells his reader in Romans 13 that man is supposed to be subject to the governing authorities. Paul says that a ruler is “God’s servant to do you good.” Why is Paul saying that we should be subject to the government even if the government is corrupt and against God?
There are a vast amount of negative effects that are caused by the political machine in both history and today's modern society. One problem that is present throught both history and now is corruption. As shown with Boss Tweed in the 1800s and most politcs today, politicians can use the political machine for their own financial wants and needs. As an example, Boss Tweed used the political machine to create fake leases and vouchers to increase his wealth, which, as a result, financially drained New York City. Another problem is that political machines will often be negative for canidates not involved in the machines.

Critique Favorite King James Text Psalm 23 In the studies that we have been doing, we have learned about several texts that are from the King James Bible. This Psalm came from the book of psalms, which was a section of the old testament composed of 150 songs. This poem that I have choosen as my favorite is often used at funerals, in times of trouble and when people are in need of a lot of comfort. I have chosen this psalm for three main reasons.
In this book, the main point Gonzalez wants the reader to understand first and foremost is just being able to see the Bible through the eyes of a person of Hispanic decent. This forces the reader to see the Bible in a whole new perspective. It’s vital that each person should be able to understand biblical concepts and be able to identify with them.
