Political ideologies have been a complex issue to determine the way humans should live their lives. Developed mostly in Europe, ideologies have spent centuries being developed by several well-known scholars and philosophers of those times. With so many party affiliations, the common democrat and republican, and other uncommon ones such as communism, authoritarianism, and Marxism, there are two that are not necessarily common to the majority, and they are Liberalism and Libertarianism. Some may even say the political parties are an analogy. Liberalism is to libertarianism as democrat is to republican. However, with two such distinct parties, there is a possibility that there may be some occasion of similar views. …show more content…

What differentiates the political parties from one another is how as people, we differ on how much and to what degree the government should have authority over the citizens, politically and economically. Libertarians view the government as a source that only provides corruption and does not fully serve its goal. They have this view of the form of government being necessary to protect people under rare occasions. In certain instances such as the protection of road regulation with the Department of Transportation or the guidelines of food safety with the Food and Drugs Administration. Libertarians support the theory that there should be no limitation to freedom in any aspect such as in personal or in political relations. They promote a government that is not large, in comparison to Liberals. The goal is for security, a benefit from a limited government dedicated to protecting the citizens. However, Liberals promote more of government involvement because they believe there are several areas where it is much needed to keep people in order. They also believe, unlike libertarians, that people will not contribute with good intentions from themselves for government funding, so taxation is enforced. The goal to be achieved is to have liberty but not without the support of government. The support of government provides structure in society even if there is a sacrifice of some
