The majority of the experiences shared about life before the Holocaust was about normal life. They talked about going to work, taking care of the home, just living life, but as time continued the realized that their normal way of life was ending. Golly d. tells about he experience when she finally understood just how bad things where, and how worse they were going to get. She tells of the ordeals that her family face during Kristallnacht. “ We were fast asleep, and then someone started pounding on the door. The next thing we knew men charged in demanding that we get dressed and came with them. We were forced into a crowd and nobody understood what was happening. The next thing we knew they separated all of the men for the women and children.
