The Republic of Korea, also known as an MEDC and an Asian Tiger, is an East Asian country constituting the southern section of the Korean peninsula. The majority of South Korean people lived in rural areas, living as farmers. After industrialization came into South Korea, urban life began. A capital city, Seoul’s population increased and South Korea experienced extremely fast and steady economic growth over time.

Countries can be categorized into two different groups, MEDCs, and LEDCs. South Korea and other countries such as the United States, Japan can be categorized as more economically developed countries (MEDCs). South Korea’s current life expectancy is 81, ranked 19th among other countries. As the chart shown below, as GDP per capita rises, life expectancy rises. There is a clear pattern, therefore this is a strong correlation. Correlations are the relationship or connection between two or more indicators. Life expectancy works on the basis of the year of the birth, current age and demographic factors like a gender. The figures indicate the condition of healthcare in the countries along with wars in progress, obesity, and HIV or other infectious diseases. In the 19th century, with a start of industrialization, a life expectancy of industrialized countries has risen. Life expectancy in South Korea has also increased gradually from 1965 and have reached 81 in 2015. In South Korea in the 1960s, swift economic growth with GDP and GNP per capita rising has influenced the improvement in life expectancy. Approximately 98% of South Koreans have mobile phones and use them for various things, such as calling, texting, watching live TV and checking websites. Samsung and LG are the first and third biggest electronic (cell phones) companies in the world. For that reason, South Koreans are generally the first to experience new technology. Regardless of money spent, South Korean purchasers change their phones every year or less. Technology has not improved in South Korea until 1980 according to the chart below.
