Jesus Christ is one of the most important people to ever live. His life is the foundation of the most popular religion in the world, Christianity. Lightning McQueen is the star of the Disney Pixar film Cars. When you look at these two characters and their stories you may not see many, if any, similarities. What if I were to tell you that they have identical stories, and are almost identical themselves? I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but just listen. There are a few differences between these two, as expected. The most obvious of these is that of course, Jesus was a human, and Lightning is a car. In Jesus’ time there was a fatal illness called leprosy. The people that had this disease, the lepers, were made outcasts and were banished from the rest of society. Jesus went and healed these people. Lightning McQueen on the other hand ran away from these people. Lightning is sponsored by a product called Rust-eze. Rust-eze is a product that gets the rust out of old cars. Rust-eze clients are often disfigured and gross-looking, like the lepers of Jesus’ time. Unlike Jesus, Lightning was disgusted and hid from these cars. These are the few differences between Lightning McQueen and Jesus. But, there are also many similarities to these two people.
